Mister UniQue was back on tour \u2013 and this time, I found myself in the capital of Klaus Wowereit: Berlin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On October 4th, 2012, I flew to Berlin-Tegel in the late morning and was briefly greeted by dry weather \u2013 just long enough for a false sense of security \u2013 before the wrath of the heavens descended upon me. For four days straight, I was plagued by unrelenting rain, the kind that made you look around for Noah and his ark every time you dared step outside. In short: the weather was absolutely miserable. To be honest \u2013 the rain didn\u2019t stop until I left on October 7th.<\/p>\n

Still, it was a successful trip. Why? Because I had the chance to meet and interview two celebrities who couldn\u2019t be more different. First: Germany\u2019s most famous hairdresser \u2013 Udo Walz<\/em>. And four days later: Germany\u2019s most controversial (and most naked) self-promoter \u2013 Micaela Sch\u00e4fer<\/em>. Her video interview will follow soon.<\/p>\n

But let\u2019s rewind: After landing in Berlin, I went straight to my hotel. Quick check-in. No time to waste \u2013 I had an appointment at 2:30 PM with Udo Walz at his salon on Uhlandstra\u00dfe 181\/183, near Ku’damm. I arrived a little early, hoping that might earn me some extra time, since I’d only been officially granted 30 minutes for the interview.<\/p>\n

So there I stood. In front of the glass door to Udo Walz\u2019s salon. Peering in, I immediately recognized that familiar face walking straight toward me. I\u2019ll admit \u2013 I was nervous. I stepped inside, and Udo greeted me in a rather disinterested tone:<\/p>\n

\u201cHow can I help you?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

I replied, \u201cMy name is Oliver Dohmen, and I have an interview appointment with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He shot back, \u201cI know nothing about that! Where are you from? What media are you with?\u201d<\/p>\n

What I didn\u2019t realize at that moment was that he was simply testing me \u2013 trying to catch me off guard. Udo is a master of dry humor and loves to play mind games to throw people off balance. It was all just a joke.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take long before we clicked, and the result was a relaxed, easygoing interview. Since then, we\u2019ve been on a first-name basis, and he even promised to connect me with countless other celebrities through his network.<\/p>\n
