The grand finale of my three-week Asia adventure had arrived. From the buzzing streets of Kuala Lumpur to the paradise beaches of Bali, my journey led me to the dazzling metropolis of Singapore. My final stop? A truly unique spot: Level 33 \u2013 the world\u2019s highest urban craft brewery.<\/p>\n

Sounds crazy? It is. And that\u2019s exactly what I love: extraordinary experiences for you, my followers! And believe me when I say \u2013 I\u2019ve never stepped into an elevator with such a big grin on my face. With every passing floor, I felt more like James Bond on a secret mission. The destination: 150 meters above the rooftops of Singapore.<\/p>\n

Singapore, Skyline, and Speed<\/strong><\/p>\n

As I stepped out at the top, a warm breeze hit me \u2013 and BAM, there it was: the view! Stretching out before me, the breathtaking Marina Bay. Right in front: the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel, looking like someone had placed a giant ship on top of three skyscrapers. Just below, I could barely make out the former Formula 1 street circuit. Just days ago, the only nighttime Grand Prix in the world was roaring through the streets here. I could almost still smell the burnt rubber in the air.<\/p>\n

„So close and yet so far,“ I thought to myself as I imagined Max Verstappen taking these corners. But now it was my turn \u2013 on my very own high-speed journey through the world of beer.<\/p>\n

High Altitude, High Hops: The Brewmaster and His Beer<\/strong><\/p>\n

My first contact on this hop-fueled mission: Gabriel Garcia, the brewmaster of Level 33. Friendly, charismatic, and clearly a genius when it comes to brewing beer. He guided me through the brewery, which \u2013 let me emphasize this again \u2013 floats 150 meters above the ground.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>„Oliver, do you know what’s the most thrilling thing up here?“ Gabriel asked with a grin.
„The view?“ I replied.
„Wrong. The pressure!“<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brewing Beer in the Sky \u2013 The Challenges and the Charm<\/strong><\/p>\n

It turned out that brewing beer at this altitude comes with its own set of challenges. Air pressure, temperature, and humidity all behave unpredictably \u2013 but that\u2019s exactly what makes the beer at Level 33 so special. A total of five varieties are available fresh on tap. My favorite? The India Pale Ale \u2013 wonderfully fruity and hoppy at the same time.<\/p>\n

And then came the highlight: the \u201cBrut Beer.\u201d A brilliant combination of traditional brewing and the art of champagne-making. The twist? They use champagne yeast \u2013 but since the French are a little sensitive when it comes to naming rights, they had to skip the term \u201cchampagne.\u201d So this elegant drink goes by \u201cBrut Beer\u201d \u2013 bottled in champagne bottles, complete with cork and that signature pop. Sounds fancy? It is!<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen it pops, it must be good,\u201d I thought to myself and gave it a proper pop. The result? A sparkling, elegant beer with that certain ooh l\u00e0 l\u00e0<\/em>! Cheers to creativity!<\/p>\n

Dr. Martin B\u00e9m and the Art of Soaring High<\/strong><\/p>\n

After an extensive tasting session \u2013 all in the name of professional research, of course \u2013 Dr. Martin B\u00e9m joined us. Martin is one of the visionaries behind Level 33. Over another glass, he shared how the idea came about to build a brewery in the sky.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>„It wasn’t easy,“ he said. „We had to meet requirements that usually only apply to airline companies.“<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hurdles like building regulations, pressure equalization, and perfecting the brewing techniques turned the path to success into a true adventure. But when I looked at the packed terrace and the happy faces around us, I knew: it was all worth it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Martin and I laughed about the bizarre challenges, and he even shared a few anecdotes about setting up a brewery at this altitude \u2013 and dealing with an elevator far too small for the job.<\/p>\n

A fitting finale to my Asia trip<\/strong><\/p>\n

As I caught the last rays of sunshine over Singapore at the end of my visit, it hit me: this place was the perfect ending to my journey through Asia. I had discovered cities, explored beaches, met incredible people \u2013 and now, high above the ground, I\u2019d learned one final lesson: adventure is everywhere. Sometimes, all it takes is an elevator ride up.<\/p>\n
