Pura Vida!
In November 2018, the time had finally come – for the very first time, I set off for Central America. The destination: beautiful, lush Costa Rica. And what we experienced there was absolutely mind-blowing… stunning beaches like the bay of Manuel Antonio, flying along the Pacific coast in a gyrocopter near Tamarindo, soaring Superman-style over a deep valley on Latin America’s longest zipline, and even staying right in the middle of the jungle at a lodge in the south of the country.
Those three weeks flew by in no time, and we got to explore a country that amazed us not only with its exotic flora and fauna but also with its warm-hearted people and delicious food. We felt safe the entire time.
The trip began in San José. From there, we headed north to La Fortuna to visit the Arenal Volcano. We continued around Costa Rica’s largest lake, Lake Arenal, up into the highlands of Monteverde. Then we made our way to Liberia and finally reached the Pacific coast. Our first stop there was Tamarindo.
How the journey continued after that? You’ll find out in Part 2 of my impressions!
Now enjoy Part 1 – from San José to Tamarindo on the Pacific Coast.
