Hey there!
It finally happened – I hit the road through Europe in my own car! More specifically, I took a scenic drive through the Alps, accompanied by my best friend Ramona from Berlin. In a way, it felt like a journey back in time. The last time I did this kind of trip through Austria, I was around eight years old, sitting in the back seat. Kind of funny to feel like Marty McFly, traveling back to the past in his DeLorean. So much felt familiar, yet somehow new.

On September 8th, we set off from Düsseldorf toward Berchtesgaden and the stunning Königssee, passed Salzburg and the Wolfgangsee, and continued on to Hallstatt and the Dachstein Mountains. That marked the easternmost point of our route through Austria – from there, we headed straight west toward Mayrhofen, Seefeld, and Sölden, including a quick detour into the Pitztal. Finally, we made our way back home via Bregenz and Lindau.

What we experienced, what to look out for, and all the little tips—we’ll share soon in my big Alpine Rally Movie and in a detailed travel diary.

But for now, enjoy Part 1 of my impressions – from Berchtesgaden to the Wolfgangsee. You can find Part 2 [here].
